Who can study at Canterbury Christ Church University?

This University offers undergraduate, Postgraduate, full-time, part-time, apprenticeships and short courses.

For Undergraduate:

  • All applicants for undergraduate programmes will need a minimum English level of IELTS or equivalent 6.0 overall, with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands. If you have taken an IGCSE exam in English and have a Grade C, this will also usually be acceptable for most undergraduate courses.
  • Polytechnic Diploma (BTEB) with a final grade of at least 65%. Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce (Pass) awarded after 3 years of study with a minimum final grade of at least 60% or a GPA of 3.0/4.0

For Postgraduate:

  • For postgraduate entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands or equivalent. Some courses have a higher requirements.
  • Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce (Honours) awarded after 4 years of study at a good institution with a final grade of at least 60% or a GPA of 2.5/4.0.
  • Bachelor degree (Professional subjects) awarded after at least 4 years of study at a good institution with a final grade of at least 60% or a GPA of 2.5/4.0.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from a recognized university: A minimum final grade of 55% to 60% or a GPA of 2.5/4.0.
  • Master of Engineering/Master of Science (Engineering) from a recognized university:
  • For programmes requiring a 2:1: 
    A minimum final grade of 55% or a GPA of 2.75/4.0
  • For programmes requiring a 2:2: 
    A minimum final grade of 50% or a GPA of 2.5/4.0

CCCU has three campus addresses:

  • Canterbury Main Campus: North Holmes Road, Canterbury, Kent CT1 1QU. It takes 1 hour 30 minutes by train
  • Medway Campus: Only has Health and Social Care Department. The address is Rowan Williams Court, 30 Pembroke Court, Chatham Maritime, Kent ME4 4UF. It takes 1 hour 25 minutes by train.
  • Lucy Fildes Building, 1 Meadow Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 2YG. It takes 1 hour 30 minutes by train.
